SMGI® Practitioner Code of Ethics

SMGI® practitioners prioritize personal well-being in ways that enable them to effectively serve others in integrity. This includes using the tools and methods of the SMGI® protocol personally and professionally in an ongoing manner.

SMGI® practitioners sustain ongoing relationships with their inner resources and seek to discern how to be, what to choose, and what to share and what not to share.

SMGI® practitioners do not position themselves as teachers, preachers, accountability coaches, advisors, therapists, or healers in their relationship with their client while doing SMGI®. When guiding clients through the SMGI® protocol, the role and responsibility is as a Guide, supporting client in connecting to their own truth and their own inner healing capacities.

SMGI® practitioners model self-responsibility, fairness, and respect and treat others as sovereign souls that are not required to comply with any requests or ideologies the practitioner may hold (with the exceptions of payment for services and the “no violence” rule).

SMGI® practitioners adhere to the Somatic Mindful Guided Imagery® Practitioners Code of Ethics and related agreements as well as ethical codes and agreements relevant to their credentials, professional associations, and other forms of service in their location of the world.

SMGI® practitioners maintain and affirm healthy boundaries and practice active consent in sessions and any teaching circumstances, and in discerning when, how, and with whom to offer their services.

SMGI® practitioners encourage others to relate directly with their inner resources to discern what choices to make, according to their own inner sovereignty and agency.

SMGI® practitioners include in their disclosures signed at initiation of work, the contact information where clients can send any complaints: Gina Vance, SMGI® Developer at gina@somaticmindfulguidedimagery.com
